Basketball clinic with our Hall of Famer Eva Cunningham

Thank you to Coach Eva for offering a basketball clinic to our French girls! They had the greatest time mastering the basics of the game. The whole school could hear their cheer and laughter!!

US History with Mrs. Greene!

Our French group had a fantastic time with Mrs. Greene yesterday, who prepared for them a discussion on American politics. The group was asked to fill out a questionnaire to discuss conservative and liberal issues so as to compare and contrast the American and French systems. Our guests left the room impressed with their conversation and felt definitely more comfortable with the topic thanks to Mrs. Greene's workshop.

From Marie & Marie on visiting City Hall and skating in Buffalo

From Camille and Marie L on the PBJ experience...

On tuesday morning , we went to the cafeteria with Mrs Michaud and her class to taste an American speciality. Her students learnt us how to make peanut butter sandwiches with grape jam. It was quite surprising but everybody loved that ! Then we showed them how to make crepes ; that was a funny and outstanding experience !!

From Camille, on the crepe-off

On Tuesday the 12th of February we did a Crepe Off.
We had to make two different teams so that the french girls could team up with the american girls.
After arguing about the people in our team, we finally got the chance to actually bake and make our crepe mixture with all of the ingredients.
When we were done preparing it, both of the teams stormed in the kitchen to finish the preparation by heating up the crepes.
At the end we didn't find out which team had winned but we didn't care.. We still ate a bunch of crepes !
I must say we all had a blast ! Best crepe off ever !

A crepe-off in Sem's kitchen for Mardi Gras

Madame's Intermediate French class invited our French guests to join 2 competitive teams this afternoon for a crepe-off. The goal: make a crepe batter and make as many crepes as possible in a given time. At the end of the period, it was a tie. Great team spirit, great fun, full bellies.

The very first bite of a PBJ sandwich...

Leave it to Madame's Intro to French class to teach our French guests how to make a staple in American delicacies: a peanut butter & grape jelly sandwich. Let it be known that peanut butter is quite difficult to find, if it can be found at all; and that grape jelly does not exist in France, despite the abundance of grapes. Some of our guests had mixed feelings about the sweet & salty flavor, some had to have 3 sandwiches before the period was over. Bottom line is, it was a fantastic encounter, both ways. Miam!
